Brief History: Summer was born to Alexis and Jacob Gelb as their second child in Annapolis, Maryland. Chase was two when Summer was born. As an angry toddler, Chase never noticed that Summer even existed. All until Summer was old enough to cry at thunderstorms. As the big brother, he "protected her".
When Summer was eleven, Alexis died of colon cancer, after battling for her life for several years. Summer, being the only girl left now, was a wreck. She didn't know if she wanted anyone to comfort her. She still wears a necklace that was her mother's, as a memory. When all the stares and such became too much, Patrick decided to move the children to Mystic Falls, where his job offered him a promotion. It was for the best. Summer is starting school, while Chance is beginning community college.
When she was 14, in honor of her mother's maiden name, Summer changed her last name to Manning.
Personality: Summer's always been a bit different than most girls her age. When she had lived in Maryland, she didn't go to regular school: she was home-schooled. It was always her mom's wish that I play music, which is what started her love for all things music. Personally, she think I'm best at piano, which is why she'd always dreamed of moving and go to Juilliard for music. Sometimes she can be found as a geek, only because she skipped a grade. She love all different kinds of foods, as long as they're not strawberry because she's allergic to strawberries. Usually when other people are around, she is extremely quiet. Ever since she was little, she found out that people usually don't like you if you're different and I don't like being made fun of.
